The 1st Asia Barista Championship was held during the Food&HotelAsia 2008 from the 22nd April – 24th April, it allows all the participating baristas a chance to demonstrate their great passion in coffee making. They also displayed professionalism in the handling of their skills amongst their peers and the media. Once again, congratulations to Mr. Carl Sara, from New Zealand, who not only bagged the 1st Asia Barista Champion title, but also Best Latte Art and Best Blended Signature Beverage. Coming up close was Mr. Scott Callaghan, from Australia, who won the 1st runner – up. Mr. Liu Jia Wei, from Taiwan, was our 2nd runner – up as well as the winner for Best Espresso. The Asia Barista Championship 2008 is co – organized by the Singapore Exhibition Services, Kerry Asia Pacific and Singapore Coffee Association.
